About the Role
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development: Create and develop comprehensive dance curriculums aligned with various Indian classical dance forms, ensuring authenticity and depth.
Instruction & Training: Conduct high-quality dance classes, workshops, and individualized training sessions for students of all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners.
Technique & Performance: Instruct students in the intricate techniques, postures, expressions, and nuances specific to Indian classical dance styles.
Artistic Direction: Choreograph and direct performances, ensuring artistic excellence, authenticity, and adherence to cultural traditions.
Mentorship & Guidance: Mentor emerging artists, providing constructive feedback, guidance, and support in their artistic journey.
Cultural Education: Educate students about the historical, cultural, and spiritual aspects associated with Indian classical dance forms, fostering a deep appreciation for the art.
Collaboration & Networking: Collaborate with fellow instructors, artists, and institutions to organize performances, cultural events, and educational initiatives.
Student Assessment: Regularly assess student progress, provide evaluations, and guide individualized development plans to enhance learning outcomes.
Community Engagement: Participate in community outreach programs, workshops, and initiatives aimed at promoting and preserving Indian classical dance heritage.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Expertise:Â Extensive knowledge and proficiency in at least one or multiple Indian classical dance styles (e.g., Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi, Kuchipudi, etc.).
Experience:Â Minimum [X years] of experience as a professional dancer and instructor in Indian classical dance forms, showcasing a track record of successful teaching and choreography.
Certifications:Â Any relevant certifications or degrees in Indian classical dance or performing arts.
